LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — The Lima Fire Department responded to a house fire at the corner of Cole and Elm streets just before 9 a.m. Thursday.
According to fire officials, the homeowner was using a heat gun on the roof to remove old paint when a bird's nest caught fire. The flames then spread into the attic.
The homeowner, two children and several dogs were home at the time of the fire. No injuries were reported.
Fire officials estimated the damage at approximately $30,000 to the structure and an additional $15,000 to the home's contents.
