LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - There's a new event in Lima that brings together music and movement.

The Lima Symphony Orchestra held its first “Classical Yoga” session Friday — an hour long, instructor-led yoga class set to live classical music. The event was created to offer a unique way to experience music and mindfulness in one setting.

"Classical Yoga" with the Lima Symphony Orchestra

The Lima Symphony Orchestra held its first “Classical Yoga” session Friday — an hour long, instructor-led yoga class set to live classical music.

“I thought, hey, there’s been all kinds of yoga that have been really popular — cat yoga, goat yoga, whatever,” said Allison Rode, project manager at the Lima Symphony Orchestra. “And I thought, well, what about classical music yoga?”

Additional sessions are scheduled for July 12 and Aug. 9 at 11 a.m. Tickets are $20 and include the class and a tote bag with wellness samples. Registration is required in advance at limasymphony.com.
