LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — Construction on the first roundabout tied to the Google data center project has been delayed.

The Port Authority of Allen County announced that the planned June 1 closure at the Cole Street and State Route 115 intersection has been pushed back. Officials said the decision was made following a public informational meeting earlier this month to allow for adjustments based on community feedback.

“We heard feedback from State Road and State Route 115 intersection why that wasn't being considered. So the team's looking at that,” said Cindy Leis, CEO and president of the Allen Economic Development Group. “We're also still working with some of the landowners that's being impacted by all of the construction up and down North Cole Street. And thirdly, just continuing to work with utilities because many of those utilities will need to be relocated as well.”

Leis said officials hope to have the project back on track by the end of June.
