Family Resource Center offers mental health services, hosting open house in October

LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — “Prevention works, treatment is effective, and people recover” is the mantra of the Family Resource Center.

Located on South Main Street in Lima, the center provides specialized behavioral health services for children, youth, adults, and families in need. Services range from psychiatric care to individual and family counseling, as well as grief support, all aimed at improving overall mental wellness.

Amy Miller, site director at the Family Resource Center, said, “The hardest part is just walking through the front door. Once you walk through the front door, we will help you with the paperwork to get you enrolled. You’ll go through what's called a diagnostic assessment, and they will match you up with the counselor that is right for your needs, plus the case management.”

Miller added that the center also offers telehealth appointments for those unable to visit the office in person.

The Family Resource Center will host an open house Tuesday, Oct. 21, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., inviting the public to stop in and learn more about the services available.
