LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — Fifth Third Bank is partnering with the City of Lima to host a “Financial Empowerment Week” aimed at connecting residents with free financial resources and education.
Beginning the week of May 3, the initiative will feature a series of events, including Meet the Team days, small business workshops, homebuyer education seminars, and a Financial Empowerment Mobile e-Bus traveling to locations throughout the city.
The effort is designed to support Lima Mayor Sharetta Smith’s “Better Together Plan,” which focuses on expanding homeownership opportunities, strengthening workforce and economic development, and building stronger communities overall.
Tara Campbell, vice president of small business strategies at Fifth Third Bank, said the week is an opportunity for the bank to directly engage with residents and provide meaningful assistance.
“Invite our team to get out into the community and serve and provide some volunteerism, but also for us to give free resources to residents, from home buyer, education, resources around how they can look at their credit, build credit, start, grow a business. It's just really important to give folks free resources and opportunities,” Campbell said.
Meet the Team events are scheduled for Monday and Tuesday. The Mobile e-Bus will be available at various locations on Wednesday and Friday, while homebuyer education seminars will take place Wednesday and small business workshops are set for Thursday.
Officials say the weeklong effort is intended to give residents practical tools and guidance to improve their financial well-being and create new opportunities for growth.
