LIMA, OH (WLIO) - If you don’t have the Christmas spirit yet, Ohio Northern University student can put you in the mood.  The Kewpee Holiday Spectacular is returning to the Veterans Civic Center, with shows on Friday Dec. 1st, Saturday Dec. 2nd, and Sunday Dec. 3rd.  This is the 28th year of the show and the students have only three weeks of practice to bring this annual tradition onto the stage.   The show has lots of holiday music and dancing, the Nativity and of course Santa and Mrs. Claus.  The performers look forward to putting smiles on the faces of the young and young at heart this time of year.

“I really want them to just get that Christmas spirit going,” says Brady Griffin, 2nd year in the Holiday Spectacular.  “I know we do it a little bit early.  We start at the end of November, it’s not quite December yet.  But I think it really a great way to start transitioning from that fall to winter fun, Christmas time season.”

“The biggest thrill for me is seeing all the little kids being so excited,” says Armani Ponder-Keith, 2nd year in the Holiday Spectacular.  “Having that huge smile on their face from the top of the show, seeing the dog, and seeing everyone just have a blast.  It just lets, me have that feeling when I was little and just love to see theater and see everyone have just a blast, just be free, and just be who they are on stage.”
