LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) – The Lima Area Concert Band wrapped up another successful season with a performance spotlighting heroes and villains.

Throughout history, music has played a role in identifying favorite heroes and villains, and with the help of vocalist Shay Bolton, the Lima Area Concert Band presented popular themes from movies such as Star Wars, Superman and The Wizard of Oz. The band is made up of 70 volunteer musicians from across northwest Ohio who share a love of music. The group’s eight concert performances this year continued its mission to serve as a music outreach to local communities.

“We just added it up recently. If we were to add up all the hours that we rehearse and we perform, it's 90 hours per person, basically throughout the summer, which comes to about 5700 hours. And that's a that's a big obligation, a big requirement, or time consuming thing that we do, but we all love to do it. We're all musicians in one way or the other, whether we're in the field of music for our careers, and so it's just an honor to be able to get together and play with other people,” says David Harris, Board President for Lima Area Concert Band.

The Lima Area Concert Band will begin developing its 2026 concert series next spring.
