LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — Lima City Schools is working to keep students engaged and learning after the school year ends.
Lima Senior High School hosted the first Lima Youth Summit, bringing together more than 100 students from across the district. Students heard from keynote speakers and Lima natives who shared their paths to success and lessons learned along the way. Students also participated in breakout sessions focused on leadership, personal growth and career exploration. District leaders said the summit aimed to provide students with support, resources and positive role models within the community.
“You can be anything you want to be. You have people from Lima that are here to show you,” Superintendent Andre Rudolph said. “We got everybody from attorneys, council president, pastors, you name it. And they all lived in the city of Lima, went through our school systems, and all have become great successes.”
Rudolph said the district is planning monthly events to bring students, families and the community together.
