LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - The annual State of the City address for Lima was held on Thursday.

The City of Lima took a new approach to its annual state of the city address by bringing not only state and local officials, but also residents to give their opinions and impact statements. Held at Lima Senior, Mayor Sharetta Smith led a series of 5 discussions about how decisions are made and how different departments for the city operate. The entire presentation was centered around questions submitted by residents, covering many different topics from public safety, infrastructure, housing, economic development, and family stability.

"I'm the CEO of the Lima Family YMCA and just because we are right downtown we've got invested interest on what is going on in the Lima community, and it was important for me just to be here and celebrate all of the success that the city's had and to see some plans that are coming for the future," says Jared Lehman, an audience member and the CEO of the Lima Family YMCA.
