LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - Lima's VFW Post 1275 is closing for the rest of the year due to rising costs and low membership.
The post on East Elm Street was approved for purchase by the city of Lima last November. Before closing their doors, they will be holding a move-out sale over the weekend. The city says they plan to use the site to keep developing the downtown Lima area.
The VFW will remain closed for the rest of the year, and they plan to look into finding a new space at the beginning of next year.
"We have just about everything; we have a lot of dishes, there's some roasters, electrical stuff, there's some outdoor stuff as well, grills, tent covers, stuff like that," said Mark Rader, senior vice commander of Lima VFW Post 1275.
The sale is cash only and runs Thursday and Friday from 9 AM to 4 PM, and Saturday from 9 AM to noon.
