LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) – Looking for the perfect gift for Easter or Mother’s Day? The Literacy Council may have just the answer. The organization is currently selling tickets for their popular Designer Purse Lottery, which will run for an entire year. For just $30, ticket holders will have 52 chances to win one of the coveted designer purses.
A total of 52 purses will be given away, including a Valentino Garavani purse valued at nearly $2,900. To win, participants need to match the Ohio Lottery Pick-3 numbers on Wednesday evenings.

As reading scores for young children continue to lag nationwide, the funds raised through the lottery will help the council further its mission. The goal is to not only help adults improve their reading skills, but also inspire a family-wide culture of reading.
“We know full well, if we don't have families reading, those children aren't going to be reading. The adults have to grasp and share a love of reading with their children for it to prosper and grow in a family, and it's not happening,” says Ken Blanchard, of The Literacy Council.
Tickets are available for purchase at the Literacy Council, located at 563 W. Spring St., or online at www.limaliteracy.net. Only 1,000 tickets will be sold.
