LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - With a career launched by Vaudeville that lead to hosting Lima TV and radio shows, VaLaire Orchard passed away over the weekend at the age of 98.
Orchard, known as Baby VaLaire, started dancing at 14 months. She had an 18 year WIMA TV career hosting Blue Flame Theater, followed by hosting the radio show It's Happening With VaLaire for 15 years on WIMA. Orchard was an active volunteer in Lima, serving on boards with the Allen County Historical Society, Mental Health Services, and at her church. She volunteered for 75 years with the American Red Cross and was recognized on the national level in 2018 at a Red Cross ceremony in Washington D.C.
Visitation and funeral service will be on Thursday at Chamberlain Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima.
