LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - Mentoring With Music has launched its first after-school program, giving kids a fun and musical way to spend their afternoons.

The eight-week program teaches children about different areas of music and live instruments. Participants will also get a sneak peek into audio engineering, importing their own beats, sounds and vocals to create original pieces. Not only will kids learn new musical skills, but they will also have the opportunity to relax and unwind from the day in a positive and healthy environment.

Mentoring With Music debuts after-school program for local kids

“I believe it's important for kids to be able to release and just kind of get some of the stress off them after school and, you know, being with their peers. They can just come here and create and just kind of get like a restart for the rest of the day. Music kind of helps them be able to just kind of release and kind of create something with they're feeling, what they like and hang out with their friends,” says Jason Henderson, President of Mentoring with Music.
