LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) – Mercy Health–Saint Rita’s Community Health Team is reaching out to residents to learn more about the health challenges they face.
On Friday afternoon, members of the team sat down with the public to discuss healthy behaviors and the steps residents may need to take for a healthier lifestyle. Whether it involves more physical activity, better nutrition, or access to primary care, the team is working to develop a plan to help the community.
By collecting extensive data—including information from their health needs assessment—they hope to make informed decisions about future programs that could benefit local residents.
“I'm taking the survey a step further, and we're able to kind of gather the ‘why’ behind the answer. So, we know, why don't you exercise, why you might not eat fruits and vegetables, that sort of thing. Then we're able to kind of figure out a program, figure out a system, and kind of customize our programming to best suit the needs, whether that's working with different partners or different educational opportunities and just different resources,” said Catherine Luskey, community health coordinator at Saint Rita’s.
Additional community forums will be held in the fall. Dates and times will be posted on the Club 219 Facebook page.
