LIMA, OH (WLIO) - The Muppets were on the big screen as this month's Groupie Movie Series featured "Muppet Treasure Island" as they set sail in search of treasure.

“We're here at the Veterans Memorial Civic and Convention Center again for Groupie Movie Series, and I'm with my buddy, Alan,” said John Garner, assistant technical director of theater at the Civic Center. “Alan, what movie are we seeing today?”

“Muppet Treasure Island,” said Allyn Sinica, a viewer excited to see the movie.

“And who are some of the characters in this show?” Garner asked.

“Kermit, Miss Piggy, and Gonzo,” Sinica said.

“Now, we've been doing these movies for a little while, we have new ones coming up. What shows are you excited to see?” Garner asked.

“Spaceballs on April 13, and The Goonies on May 18th,” Sinica said.

Spaceballs is next up on the Groupie Movie list. The 1987 film will be shown on April 13 at the Civic Center.
