LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - With Friday’s windstorm damaging homes around our area, there is hope for help, but funds are needed.
The "Neighbors Helping Neighbors" program, set up by Lima Sixth Ward City Councilman Derry Glenn, assists mainly elderly and disabled residents who can't afford critical home repairs.
These renovations include heat, windows, and siding for those in need, giving them free services. This program is not limited to those residing in the 6th ward, but around Lima as a whole. Glenn is asking for funds to keep the program alive and running.
"We want someone to commit every month. Monthly commitment. It could be 100 dollars a month, it could be 40 dollars a month, we just need money and supplies. You can donate supplies if you need to, we'll take them," says Dr. Derry Glenn, 6th Ward City Councilman of Lima.
Donations to support this cause can be made through the Lima Community Foundation. For more information, call (419) 221-5928
