LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — Six Lima firefighters have officially achieved full rank after successfully completing their year long probationary period with the Lima Fire Department.
According to Lima Fire Chief Jack McDermitt, probationary firefighters undergo a year of rigorous training before reaching the milestone. During a recognition ceremony, each firefighter was presented with a helmet shield and badge signifying the completion of their probation. The firefighters honored on Wednesday were Nick Ford, Anna Burton, Arsahn Williams, Martin Jones, Evan Barth, and Daniel Lombardo.

McDermitt said he is excited to watch the firefighters continue to develop throughout their careers and contribute to the department's future: "Just looking forward to them to continue to grow and learn and be just help the department move forward."
The Lima Fire Department currently has 75 firefighters on staff.Â
