LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — Families are invited to the Greater Lima Region Amphitheater this summer for Movies Under the Stars.
The Lima Festivals and Amphitheater Alliance, along with several area service organizations and businesses, announced the creation of the Park After Dark Movie Nights. The series will feature three Friday evening events throughout the summer, offering residents a chance to relax at the park and watch movies on the big screen.
“We're hoping for something that is fun, family-friendly, a place that kids don't always get to see their friends in the summer that you can invite your friends so that you can stay in touch and just something that families get to do together,” said Ashley Blake with the Lima Festivals and Amphitheater Alliance.
The summer lineup includes Super Hero Night featuring The Incredibles on June 13, Red, White and Movie Night featuring National Treasure on July 3, and Back to School Night featuring Akeelah and the Bee on Aug. 7. The movies are free to attend, and concessions will be available for purchase on site. Gates open at 7 p.m., and movies begin at 8 p.m. Organizers encourage attendees to bring lawn chairs and blankets for the outdoor events.
