Lima, OH (April 20, 2025) – The Lima Symphony Orchestra invites audiences to experience an extraordinary new chapter with its 2026/2027 season, A Season of Discovery. Beginning October 17th at 7:30 PM, this dynamic and wide-ranging season celebrates the richness of American music while launching a two-year search for the orchestra’s next Music Director.
Throughout the season, six distinguished guest conductors will take the podium as finalists in this exciting search process. Each will spend time immersed in the Lima community, collaborating with musicians and audiences alike, and culminating their residency with a live performance. These concerts offer more than exceptional music—they invite audiences to play an active role in shaping the future of the Lima Symphony Orchestra.
The Grand Series opens with America@250: Frontier, Freedom, and the Force, conducted by Yaniv Segal, a vibrant celebration of the many musical traditions that define the American story.
November continues with An American Tapestry, led by Fernanda Lastra, exploring the expressive depth of American composers. December brings back the cherished holiday tradition Bells, Brass & Bows, conducted by Kelly Corcoran, featuring festive favorites and the Lima Symphony Chorus.
In the new year, audiences can enjoy Echoes of Spring: A Candlelight Concert in January, conducted by James Blachly, followed by Dancing Across America in March under the baton of Wesley Schulz.
The season concludes on April 10th with Roots and Heritage, conducted by Kevin Sütterlin, featuring a world premiere by Brianna Ware and a powerful celebration of cultural storytelling through music.
Special events include The Amazing 80s: New Year’s Eve Concert, a high-energy celebration of one of music’s most iconic decades with Jeans ‘n Classics , and The Good, The Bad, and the Music, an interactive family concert designed to entertain and inspire audiences of all ages.
As part of this season’s journey, the orchestra proudly celebrates the 250th anniversary of the United States by highlighting the diversity and creativity of American music, alongside beloved classical masterworks. From powerful symphonic programs to engaging pops and family experiences, the 2026/2027 season offers something for everyone.
