PERRY TWP., Allen County, OH (WLIO) — Car enthusiasts came out Saturday afternoon to ensure local veterans won’t miss a meal in the future.
Lima's UAW Local 1219 and Reineke Family Dealerships hosted their 7th annual Veterans’ Car Show at the Ford dealership. Around 100 cars, trucks and motorcycles were on display to help raise money for the Veterans Food Pantry of Northwest Ohio. Funds raised at previous car shows have helped purchase a delivery van for the pantry. This annual event is one of the ways UAW supports the Veterans Food Pantry and the men and women who have served the country.

“We try to support it all throughout the year, car shows, cruise-ins, anything we do, we try to support them 100%. I've been volunteering with them since 2019 seeing the veterans line up every week, three to four hours early for their food. Also, all the veterans that volunteer there. It is a true nonprofit. Nobody accepts pay throughout so it's just very rewarding," said Jeff Adams, president of UAW Local 1219.
Reineke also hosted a Ford Drive 4 UR Community event, where participants could pay to test drive vehicles, with proceeds benefiting local veterans’ organizations.
