LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — Residents across Lima spent Saturday clearing out unwanted items as the city kicked off the Mayor’s Spring Cleanup effort.
Seven drop-off sites were set up throughout the city, giving residents an opportunity to dispose of trash and unwanted household items during the first cleanup day of the season.
Several community organizations and volunteers assisted with the effort, including staff and residents from the WORTH Center. Volunteers helped unload vehicles and trailers at the Lima Streets Department drop-off location.
“It's important for us to do this volunteer work while they are rehabilitating, get back on track and be a part of the communities. It feels real good for all of us. We're excited to give back to the community and help out,” said Tamyka Thomas, resident specialist for the WORTH Center.
The next Mayor’s Spring Cleanup day is scheduled for Saturday, May 16. Residents can review the event flyer below for information about drop-off locations and guidelines on acceptable and prohibited items.
