LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - The West Central Association of Realtors hit the bowling lanes to support a local cause.
At Westgate Entertainment Center, Realtors rolled strikes to raise money for Meals ‘til Monday. The nonprofit provides free weekend meals to local elementary school children who are food insecure and rely primarily on school cafeterias for meals. So far, more than $4,000 has been raised, and organizers hope to collect even more to make a difference.
“We just hope that we can give back to the kids who are in need of different foods and stuff like that. Meals 'til Monday gives kids meals over the weekends and everything, so we're hoping that we can just provide a little bit extra for them since we know sometimes the funding has gotten lost in there, so we hope we can just give a little bit of assistance,” says Lexi Scheer, CEO, West Central Association of Realtors.
Each year, the West Central Association of Realtors selects a nonprofit to benefit from its fundraising efforts.
