LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — Woof Boom Radio Lima has taken to the airwaves over the past two days in support of a charitable cause.
Broadcasting on 92.1 The Frog, the company’s annual St. Jude Radiothon is underway, raising funds for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and its mission of finding cures and saving children’s lives.
During the event, on-air hosts conduct 13-hour live broadcasts, encouraging listeners to become “Partners in Hope” by making donations. Over the years, Woof Boom Radio Lima has raised more than seven figures to support St. Jude’s work.
"We have raised, with our partners in the community, over a million dollars for St. Jude. It takes $2 million a day to run that hospital, so it's just very important that we give back to the research and the funding that St. Jude needs. And again, they share all of their research and protocols freely, so even if you are not a St. Jude patient, you're very likely benefiting from the research that they've done," says Victoria Gonzalez, Mornings with Dave and Victoria on 92.1 The Frog.
Those interested in contributing can call 1-800-339-4673 to donate.
