LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — ArtSpace/Lima has announced the return of Lima native and original Beach Boy Al Jardine for a special Labor Day weekend concert celebrating the organization's 70th anniversary.
Jardine will perform with the Pet Sounds Band on Saturday, Sept. 5, at the Pangle Pavilion at the Greater Lima Region Amphitheater. The concert will serve as a fundraiser to support ArtSpace/Lima and its programs.
Jardine, who grew up in Lima, last returned to his hometown about three years ago. ArtSpace Executive Director Sally Windle said the organization is excited to welcome him back for what organizers hope will feel like a hometown celebration.
"We're excited to make this kind of like a homecoming that he comes back with the Pet Sounds Band, which is really taking off in a lot of popularity just because of the Brian Wilson songs," Windle said.
The concert is sponsored by the Kriegel and Pangle families. Tickets will go on sale July 15 through ArtSpace/Lima.
