An annual report released by the Attorney General's Office shows that more than 116,000Â concealed carry license were issued in Ohio in 2015. The total concealed carry numbers reported, including renewed ones, is up from the 110,000 that were issued in 2014. The amount of newly issued licenses is also up by more than 13,000Â statewide. In 2015, there were 551 licenses issued in Allen County and 460 renewed licenses. Allen County Sheriff Sam Crish says he believes the number of licenses they issue will continue to rise and it's a good idea for those interested to attend a class.
"I encourage people to attend the classes whether they want to carry a handgun or not, but I think they should at least attend the class to get an idea of what it's all about, and again I'm all for law abiding citizens being able to protect themselves," Crish said.
He says if you're interested in getting your concealed carry permit you can contact the Allen County Sheriff's Office for more information.
