AUGLAIZE COUNTY, Ohio (WLIO) - The Wapakoneta Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly two-vehicle crash on I-75 in Auglaize County.
Troopers say it happened around 6:12 Sunday morning near milepost 118. Investigators report a 2019 Kia Soul was heading south when it went off the right side of the road and hit an abandoned 2007 Ford Edge. Both vehicles caught fire and burned. The driver — the only person in the Kia — died at the scene. The victim has not yet been identified.
The Auglaize County Sheriff’s Office, the county coroner, Uniopolis Fire, Cridersville EMS, Auglaize County CERT, Auglaize County EMA, ODOT, and two towing companies assisted at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Wapakoneta – The Wapakoneta Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a two-vehicle fatal crash that occurred on November 23, 2025, at approximately 6:12 a.m. in Auglaize County, Ohio. The crash occurred on IR-75 near Milepost 118.
The preliminary investigation indicates that a 2019 Kia Soul was southbound on IR-75 and drove off of the right side of the roadway and struck a 2007 Ford Edge that was abandoned. The Kia and the Ford then caught fire and burnt.
The driver and sole occupant of the Kia sustained fatal injuries. At the time of this media release the occupant has not been identified.
The Auglaize County Sheriff’s Office, Auglaize County Coroner, Uniopolis Fire Department, Cridersville EMS, Auglaize County CERT, Auglaize County EMA, Ohio Department of Transportation, Nelsons Towing and Tops Towing also responded to the crash.
The crash remains under investigation by the Wapakoneta Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
