No word yet if charges will be filed after a fetus was found in a Lima dumpster this afternoon.
The Wapakoneta Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly two-vehicle crash on I-75 in Auglaize County.
“They were very shocked to come across that, you know, you always know in the back your head that, hey, this was originally a cemetery. They say there’s still at least one person buried here, but you don’t think that they’re actually gonna find something when you’re just trying to dig up to put a new fuel, fuel pump. It was kind of exciting. It was, it was just very neat atmosphere. Just, you know, kind of seeing a piece of history unfold before you there,” said Teresa Brown, RTA finance manager.
Just after 6 a.m. Friday, the Findlay Police Department responded to the CSX railroad tracks between the 300 block of Clinton Court and the 300 block of West Main Cross Street on a report of a train versus pedestrian accident.

A Findlay man is dead, and two men from Dunkirk were injured in a minivan crash Monday night. The Hardin County Sheriff's Office is reporting that James Hagenbuch, a front passenger in the van, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Hardin County Coroner. The driver, Lee Newman, and backseat passenger, Douglas Inmon, were both taken to area hospitals for their injuries.
Officers were dispatched to a report of a deceased person floating in the retention pond at the rear of 1161 W. Trenton Ave. The body of a deceased white male was recovered from the pond. The body was transported to the Lucas County Coroner's Office for an autopsy. At this time the deceased male has not been identified.
While the circumstances surrounding the scene ruled it a homicide, there were no visible wounds and x-ray results did not reveal a cause. The coroner says findings in the temporal bone, which are located at the sides and the base of the skull may indicate a drowning, but there is not enough evidence to prove it.
Sheriff Riggenbach stated at 10:03 a.m. on Thursday, October 13th, his Office received a 9-1-1 call from a concerned citizen who was following a blue S.U.V. driving all over the roadway southbound on U.S Route 127 near State Route 709. While the 911 operator was on the line, the caller advised the Blue S.U.V. struck a semi.
A 2019 Dodge Ram, operated by Craig A. Shivley, age 63, of Convoy, was traveling eastbound on US Route 224. A 2014 Freightliner semi, operated by Paul A. Guinther, age 67, of Middle Point, was traveling westbound on US Route 224. Mr. Shivley ’s vehicle crossed the centerline and was struck head-on by Mr. Guinther’s semi. The Dodge Ram came to final rest off the south side of the roadway. The Freightliner semi came to final rest off the north side of the roadway and caught fire.
