Findlay police recover body from W. Trenton Avenue retention pond

1/24/23 Update from the Findlay Police Department: The deceased male has been identified as Benjamin L. Greeno, 45, of Findlay, Ohio. Drowning was cited as the preliminary cause of death, pending toxicology results. No trauma to the decedent was noted during the autopsy, and foul play is not suspected.


FINDLAY, OH (WLIO) - A white male was found dead in Findlay Thursday.

The Findlay Police Department responded to a report of a deceased person floating in the retention pond at 1161 West Trenton Avenue. The body was transported to the Lucas County Coroner's Office for an autopsy. At this time the man has not been identified and the incident is still under investigation.

Press Release from the Findlay Police Department: Officers were dispatched to a report of a deceased person floating in the retention pond at the rear of 1161 W. Trenton Ave. The body of a deceased white male was recovered from the pond. The body was transported to the Lucas County Coroner's Office for an autopsy. At this time the deceased male has not been identified.
