LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - No word yet if charges will be filed after a fetus was found in a Lima dumpster this afternoon.

Lima Police Officers were called out to 531 Brower Road, the address for Maplewood Northwood apartments. Officers were able to find the right dumpster and the fetus. The woman who had been carrying the fetus was located and taken to the Lima Police department as part of the investigation. Police say they're not releasing any more information or names just yet.

"The fetus is being sent to Montgomery County Coroner's office to examine and determine the Gestational age. Then once we gathered enough other information, and we have enough where we can present it to the prosecutor's office and see how they want to proceed. If they want to file a charge, if they feel there's not enough for a charge, or if it even supports a charge," says Detective Sgt. Steve Stechschulte, Lima Police Detective, Lima.

This investigation is still ongoing and anyone with additional information about this incident is urged to contact the Lima Police Department at (419)-227-4444.
