LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — Families in Lima are invited to celebrate the Easter season this weekend as the Easter Bunny makes a stop at Hover Park for a community egg hunt.
Children will have the chance to search for thousands of Easter eggs filled with treats and prizes during the annual event. In addition to the egg hunt, organizers say there will be community resources, giveaways and activities designed for all ages.
The event is hosted each year by Lima City Council members Derry Glenn and Thomas Jones, who aim to provide a fun, hometown celebration for local residents.
“And we’re just happy about this. We enjoy our kids having fun. This is good fun we’re going to have right there at Hover Park, so come on out and have a good time,” said Glenn.
The egg hunt is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. Saturday at Hover Park. A special golden egg hunt will follow at 3 p.m., featuring four prize eggs that each include $25 for a child to start a savings account at State Bank. Free food boxes will also be available for families attending the event while they last.
