OTTAWA, Ohio (WLIO) - For members of the Putnam County Junior Fair Board, fair week isn't just a week of fun with family and friends. These kids are waking up early, competing and facilitating competitions and events for everyone who comes to the fair.

"It gets really chaotic. You know, you're up at wee hours of the morning and then you're up at night until basically midnight, or even later. And it's just, you know, little sleep but it's a lot rewarding and fun times. You get a lot of extra activities in there and a lot of different things," said Junior Fair Board member Natalie Ruhe.

The kids run all of the Junior Fair shows and many extra activities to help the fair run smoothly. Fair week represents weeks of hard work from the young board members and community pride for Putnam county.

"For me, I've grown up around here. I never really got into the animals as much, but fair for me is like, I think it's just like showing off your community and showing what your community is to you and what it means to the whole county," said Junior Fair Board member Evan Rosengarten.

The Putnam County fair will run through this Saturday, concluding with the 4-H silent auction.
