FINDLAY, Ohio (WLIO) - Just after 6 a.m. Friday, the Findlay Police Department responded to the CSX railroad tracks between the 300 block of Clinton Court and the 300 block of East Main Cross Street on a report of a train versus pedestrian accident.
It was discovered that a southbound CSX freight train had struck and killed a person who was walking on the railroad tracks. The victim was identified as 52-year-old Chad Valentine of Arcadia, Ohio.
At this time, the incident remains under active investigation, and several crossings in the area that were previously blocked have been re-opened.

The deceased has been transported to the Lucas County Coroner's Office at the direction of the Hancock County Coroner, Dr. Mark Fox.
Agencies assisting at the scene included the Findlay Fire Department, Hanco Ambulance, the City of Findlay Public Works Department, and personnel from CSX Railroad.
