ST. MARYS, Ohio (WLIO) - The family of a St. Marys man that was killed in a building collapse last year has reached a wrongful death settlement in Auglaize County Probate Court.

According to court documents, Judge Mark Spees approved the wrongful death claim for over $682,000 to the estate of Christopher Brown. The claim was made against Todd Klosterman, who owns Klosterman Vested Interests LLC, and the property at 305 East Spring Street that collapsed on July 31st of last year.

Brown and Kevin Sharp were surveying the building when it collapsed; Brown was killed and Sharp was seriously injured. The two men worked for Pro Fit HVAC LLC, also owned by Klosterman. That business was fined $41,000 following an investigation by OSHA back in December.

Klosterman contested those citations and the case remains open.
