Hands-on learning takes flight during STEAM Week at Armstrong Museum

WAPAKONETA, Ohio (WLIO) — The Armstrong Air and Space Museum is offering families a hands-on learning experience that blends engineering, science and art during its first-ever STEAM Week held over the holiday break.

STEAM Week runs through Wednesday and allows visitors to participate in one of three daily classes with the price of admission. Each day features a different educational focus designed to engage children and spark curiosity.

On Tuesday, families learned about sound and how planets produce unique signals that can be detected through an antenna. Museum officials say the program is intended to inspire young visitors to explore future careers in STEAM-related fields, particularly those connected to aviation and space exploration.
