LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — For one Lima family, Saint Patrick's Day has become more than a celebration — it’s a chance to give back to the community.
The O’Connor family continued its annual tradition of serving a special meal at Our Daily Bread soup kitchen, providing an Irish-inspired lunch to those in need. This year’s menu featured corned beef sandwiches, potato salad and traditional fixings.
Now in its fourth year, the family-led effort is part of a growing tradition centered on service and generosity. The O’Connors say the day is about sharing their celebration with others while supporting members of the community.

“It feels great, of course, and that's why we do it. You know, this is a special day for all of us. This is the best day of the year, so why not share it with others?” said Karen O’Connor.
The family says they plan to continue the St. Patrick’s Day tradition for years to come, using the holiday as an opportunity to spread kindness and bring people together.
