LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — St. Patrick's Day may have fallen on a weekday this year, but that did not stop people in Lima from celebrating.
From green beers and cocktails to shepherd’s pie and festive sweets, there were plenty of ways to get into the holiday spirit.
Beer Barrel Pizza & Grill served traditional favorites such as corned beef and cabbage, along with Guinness and green beer.
Staff said the Market Street location is always a popular spot for the holiday.
"I can't wait for a great night, and we have a bunch of regulars already trying to get in. We can't take any more reservations because we're all filled up, but we've got open tables, so come out and join us.", said Heather Hale, guest service specialist at Beer Barrel.
While the crowds were more low-key at The Met, customers still stopped in for holiday-themed food and drinks.
"What we see today is, you know, sort of the aftermath of St. Patty's, because people are still recovering from the weekend, but people do still want to have that moment of celebration. They want to put on their green, they want to come out and have a specialty drink or maybe indulge in some Irish-inspired food." said Carissa Reinicke, wine manager at The Met.
For those looking for more family-friendly fun, Corner Pins at Spring and Main is open with festive drinks and activities for all ages.
"That's a really fun place to be. Bring your little ones and just get festive and have a good night.", said Jessica Johnson, server at Casa Lu Al.
To end St. Patrick's Day on a sweet note, think about stopping by Sara's Sweets for shamrock cutout cookies, Lucky Charms treats or Irish creme cheesecake.
