LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — A Lima woman has pleaded guilty in Auglaize County Common Pleas Court to a road rage incident last fall that left one man dead.
Bailey Luckett, 24, changed her plea to guilty on the charge of aggravated vehicular homicide for the I-75 crash in October that killed David Shutt, 44, of Lima. As part of a plea deal, charges of reckless homicide and failure to stop after an accident were dropped.
State troopers say Luckett was driving her car in the northbound lane ahead of a semi when she allegedly stopped on the interstate and got out to confront the truck driver.
Shutt failed to stop in time and struck the back of the semi, killing him.
Luckett fled the scene and was later picked up by troopers.
She also pleaded guilty to another charge of attempting to bring drugs into jail after she was caught with a vaping device containing THC when she was booked into the Auglaize County jail for the other offense.
She will be sentenced on May 21st.
