ST. MARYS, Ohio (WLIO) — A Mercer County man died Wednesday afternoon following a motorcycle crash in St. Marys.
According to the St. Marys Police Department, 23-year-old Parker Wiechart of Celina was operating a Harley-Davidson motorcycle when he lost control while crossing the intersection of Kishler Street and Indiana Avenue.
Police said the motorcycle's rear tire struck a curb, causing Wiechart to be thrown from the bike.
Officers from the St. Marys Police Department and personnel from the St. Marys Fire Department responded to the scene.
Wiechart was transported to Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead from injuries sustained in the crash.
Authorities reported that Wiechart was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
The crash remains under investigation.
