WAPAKONETA, Ohio (WLIO) - It's been 75 years of family fun for all ages at the St. Joe's Parish Festival in Auglaize County.
From the popular cake wheel, to pony rides and the kids tent-- there is something for everyone at the festival to enjoy for the Fourth of July. The festival serves as a fundraiser for the parish and is a vital source to keep St. Joe's alive and well. Festival committee chair and voice of the festival Tom Vehorn always appreciates how supportive the area is to the parish.
"This is our 75th St. Joe parish picnic, and we've been doing it for 75 years, and we put a lot of stock in trying to have fun, but still do it as a fundraiser, so we can help out a lot of the different ministries in our in our parish," said Vehorn. "It's a rewarding thing, and we're very fortunate. The community of Wapakoneta and the surrounding area really support the St. Joe Festival, from helping with sponsoring the fireworks or doing different things, or people just sponsoring some of the booths. It's a win-win for all."
And it wouldn't be the St Joe's Festival without the Fourth of July fireworks, which lit up the sky on Friday night.
