WAPAKONETA, Ohio (WLIO) - One of the biggest festivals in the area is back for another year.

The Summer Moon Festival in Wapakoneta took over downtown with vintage cars, live music, and plenty of good eats. The annual car show brought in more than 300 registrations, giving enthusiasts a chance to show off their prized vehicles. Down in Heritage Park, there was no shortage of fun for the kids, with face painting, games, and bounce houses to help them burn off some energy.

Summer Moon Festival draws thousands to downtown Wapakoneta

The community and surrounding area always looks forward to the festival’s return each year, and the people who help organize it are happy to bring the celebration to life.

"We love partnering with the city of Wapakoneta to bring this summer moon festival every year. We just love to see all the faces that it brings from the community, and then the surrounding areas. We bring people from miles and miles away. The info tent this year is kind of keeping track of where people are coming from. We've had some from out of the country, even. So we're so excited to see all the people that this brings; we bring 1000s of people to the businesses' front doors downtown. So we love helping our businesses in that way as well," said Lindsey Young, executive director with the Wapakoneta Chamber of Commerce.

The fun continues through Sunday. To see a list of events, you can visit the festival’s website.
