WAPAKONETA, Ohio (WLIO) - The past two days brought summer-like weather to the area, just in time for the return of the “Party in the Park” summer concert series in Wapakoneta.
The Wapakoneta Chamber of Commerce hosts the concert series each summer to provide a chance for the community to enjoy local music and explore the town.
Friends and families gathered at Heritage Park with blankets and lawn chairs to enjoy live music performed by the band Karma’s Pawn. Food trucks were on hand offering snacks, and those of age could grab a drink from the bar. The Wapakoneta Chamber of Commerce hosts the concert series each summer to provide a chance for the community to enjoy local music and explore the town.
"We're so excited to kick off party in the park this summer. This is the first of seven Friday night concerts. We just love providing something for the community to kind of connect with and we love kicking off summer with this. Everybody loves coming out and just hanging out, getting a couple drinks. It's also a great opportunity to be a fundraiser for local nonprofits. Like tonight, we have the local walking at a rotary as the bar host. So this is a way to generate some funds for their organization as well," said Lindsey Young, executive director of the Wapakoneta Chamber of Commerce.
The Party in the Park series will continue every Friday from 7 to 10:30 p.m. at Heritage Park through June 27.
