Encore Theatre's next production is the Tony Award-winning comedy "The Play That Goes Wrong," which is about a group of accident-prone actors who battle against all odds and a lot of mishaps to get to the final curtain call with hilarious results. Encore's opening night for the show is May 10th, and it's giving a whole new meaning to the term "break a leg."

"Really, you don't see these types of comedies around here very often. There is so much physicality, and the set is just as much a part of it as the actors, and the actors are phenomenal," says Sarah Glover, Encore Theatre Board Member. "If you like physical comedy, if you love laughing until you can't see straight, I strongly recommend that you come see the show."

Encore is also still looking for help to get a new roof for their building. They have a chance to get a matching grant to cover a portion of the cost, but they need people or businesses to step up to secure their share.

"We are just $6,000 short of our $25,000 grant matching project. So, that means if we can meet that $25,000, there is a matching grant out there, and that would put us $50,000 closer to our $120,000 goal, which would be awesome," adds Grover. "It's so important that we get that new roof, so we can continue to be here for the Lima community."

"The Play That Goes Wrong" runs the weekends of May 10th and 17th. You can get tickets by going to Encore Theatre's website at https://www.amiltellers.org/ or calling their box office at 419-223-8866. You can use the same number if you are interested in donating to their roof project.
