A local memorial project getting a big boost with a donation from Shawnee Manor and HCF.
The Allen County 9/11 Memorial fund receiving $4,413.91 from a recent designer purse bingo held by Shawnee Manor. A donation of this size is substantial to the project as it will help get it up and running. The memorial will be located in Shawnee Township next to the firehouse - not just as a memorial - but also as an educational tool for generations.
"The memorial is significant in the area because one, we always want to memorialize those lives that we lost that day, such a tragic event," said Jeffrey Rosebrock, Allen County 9/11 Memorial Fund President. "And also to include all the educational benefits that we're going to have in the memorial themselves."
If you would like to donate to the memorial you can do so by contacting the Lima Community Foundation. A donation of $25 will provide a star in remembrance of a life lost on that tragic day.
