A Lima man involved in a standoff last year taking people hostage appeared at his final pre-trial this afternoon.
Jacquavious Cartwright walked into a family members home on Union Street and held two women against their will September of 2016. The women were able to escape and Cartwright eventually surrendered to police and was taken into custody. The prosecutor offered a plea deal to Cartwright, if he pled guilty to one count of abduction with a firearm specification and one count of inducing panic, all other charges would be dropped. Cartwright did not accept the offer and decided to have a trial by jury. If the jury finds him guilty he could face up to 32 years in prison.
The trial date is set for Tuesday, January 17th at the Allen County Common Pleas Court.
