LIMA, OH (WLIO) - Com_UNITY Ministries is asking for some help to make this Christmas season bright for some local families. They are working with local agencies to find families to help during the holidays. So to get the items to give away the ministry is holding a Christmas Food and Clothing Drive. There is a drop box at Rigali’s Pizza Village for people to drop off their items, and they hope this new program will bring people together this Christmas Season.
“We are always trying to help those who are less fortunate and do something to give back to the community and to bring about unity within our great community of Lima,” says MaryBlanche Hengstler, Founder of Com_UNITY Ministries. “So, when I approached Rigali’s, since we have been in partnership with them for about 3, 3 ½ years now, about if they would be a collection site. They immediately jumped on board. I am so thrilled. I am so excited to bring this to the city of Lima and hopefully going to have a lot of collections and a lot of donations.”
The item collection runs through December 15th. The ministry is looking for gently used clothing for all sizes and genders, plus nonperishable food items.
