Community Members Recognized For Child Abuse Prevention Awareness

April is child abuse and neglect prevention month.

Many individuals and organizations in Allen County were recognized today for their efforts in bringing awareness to the issue.

An open house cookout was held at Allen County Children Services to wrap up the month. The organization gave out awards for Friends of Children, Pinwheels of Prevention, and the Wear Blue campaign - where members of organizations and local businesses wore blue and sent in their creative photos for the picture contest.

Officials say this month is a good way to get the community involved to help fight child abuse.
