FINDLAY, Ohio - On March 12, 2025, the Hancock County Sheriff's Office executed seven (7) search warrants in Sandusky County, Wood County and Seneca County. These search warrants were the culmination of an investigation into numerous trailers, campers, vehicles and scrap metal thefts in Allen, Hancock, Seneca and Wood Counties. This investigation began in September 2024 with the thefts of trailers in Hancock County. Through that investigation, it was discovered that the trailer thefts were only some of the crimes being committed by a larger group of individuals.

Search Warrants were executed at the following addresses:

  • 7090 CR 11, Risingsun, Ohio - doing business as Elliot Scrapping
  • 6480 CR 1, Kansas, Ohio
  • 3157 Mermill Rd., Wayne, Ohio
  • 223 W. Maple St., Risingsun, Ohio
  • 7011 N. Fostoria Rd., Risingsun, Ohio
  • 1845 N. TR 101, Fostoria, Ohio
  • 11506 W. TR 116, Fostoria, Ohio

The search warrants yielded a stolen Bobcat Skid Steer, a vehicle bearing a stolen license plate, suspected methamphetamine, suspected fentanyl, credit card skimmer device, electronic devices, and ledgers.

Assisting with the execution of the search warrants were the Hancock County Sheriff's Office Special Response Team, Wood County Sheriff's Office Special Response Team, Seneca County Sheriff's Office Emergency Response Team, Findlay Police Department Emergency Response Team, Hancock County METRICH Enforcement Unit, Seneca County METRICH Enforcement Unit, Sandusky County Drug Task Force, Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles Investigators, Northwest Ohio Interdiction Task Force, Homeland Security, Hancock County Sheriff's Office, Seneca County Sheriff's Office, Sandusky County Sheriff's Office, Lucas County Sheriff's Office, Fostoria Police Department, Tiffin Police Department, Findlay Police Department, Bowling Green Police Department, Toledo Police Department, Perrysburg Township Police Department and Fremont Police Department.

The investigation is ongoing and will be reviewed by the Prosecutor's Office at the conclusion of the investigation.
