Today, the Crossroads Crisis Center held their annual tree planting in memory of those who lost their lives to domestic violence, to honor those who have survived domestic violence, and for all those who are working to end domestic violence. Crossroads officials say that there is more than just physical abuse that comes from the violence and that the partnership they have with the We Care Crisis Center is a key service to many individuals.

"Domestic violence has a lot of acute and chronic health problems. It's not just injury and death, but it's also psychological ramifications, such as depression and anxiety and substance use. So this partnership is really important and to make sure that we have appropriate referrals to send those folks to who are struggling with things like that," explained Christel Keller, executive director of Crossroads Crisis Center.

This year, a purple butterfly bush donated by Blooms was planted at the entrance of the We Care Crisis Center on South Main Street here in Lima.
