A crash on the Putnam/Hancock county line turned fatal Sunday afternoon (October 10, 2016).
The crash was at the intersection of State Route 12 and County Road 1, just east of Pandora. Babette Grieser, 46-years-old of Jenera Ohio, was traveling northbound County Road 16 when she failed to yield for a stop sign at the intersection at State Route 12. Thirty-six year old Jesse Richardson from Findlay, was headed westbound through the intersection when the two vehicles collided. Grieser's vehicle went off the left side of the road and struck a utility pole.
Grieser's vehicle had four occupants. She was transported to the hospital with non-incapacitating injuries. The front passenger, 45-year-old Christopher Grieser of Jenera, was pronounced dead at the scene. Ashley Carman, 21 of Jenera, was taken to the hospital via life flight with life-threatening injuries. A 1-year-old in the back seat was unharmed.
Jesse Richardson was taken to Lima Memorial for incapacitating injuries. The passenger in his vehicle, 10-year-old Skylar Richardson was life flighted with critical injuries.
