Lima firefighters are doing their part to help out local non-profit organizations.
The Fire Fighters Local Union 334 held their annual benefit concert. A fun-filled night featuring live bands, a silent auction, and 50-50 raffles brought packed crowds to the UNOH Event Center. This year's goal is to raise at least $5,000 for local charities, a way of returning some of that support the firefighters get from the Lima community.Â
"The city of Lima has always supported firefighters and we put something out, be it police basketball games with the firefighters or asking for help with the non-profits," says union member Andy Heffner. "The citizens of Lima have just been wonderful and almost 100% of it goes to the local non-profits and we just think that they need somebody to help them because they do great work in our community."
Some of the non-profits that will benefit from the night's concert is Rally Point Youth Center and the battered women's shelter.
